Susan's hands‑on class invites you to experiment with acrylics in a relaxed, playful setting. Through guided demonstrations and open studio time, you’ll learn how to build color layers, create texture with sponges, and produce precise dot patterns with a variety of dotting tools. By the end of the session, you’ll complete two 4' original paintings that showcase contrast, rhythm, and surface detail.
What You Will Make and Learn
- Two small paintings
- Techniques covered: color mixing, layering, sponge texture, dotting patterns, and simple composition
- Skills gained: control of dot size and spacing, creating depth with layers, combining texture and color for visual impact
Materials Provided
- Provided: acrylic paints, canvases (two small), sponges, basic dotting tools, brushes, palettes, aprons, disposable cups for water
Class size is up to 6 students with a class fee of $35. Students will have pint color choices.
THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD IN THE STONE HOMESTEADS HOUSE.
